The 'ME' Feeling and The 'WE' Feeling

Everyday all of us wake up and start the day...Using words like I, Me, Mine, Mujhe, Mera,... I have to do this...According to ME... This is MINE...MUJHE yeh chaheay...MERA dil nai chahraha...

Suddenly I realize...exactly how selfish, self centered, and inconsiderate we are...ALL of us are...and this ME feeling is affecting US....as a nation...
"Why should he be the last person to cross the signal...and why should I have to wait?"...sounds familiar? ...yea thats each one of us talking...and if we dont say it...we do feel that way....our actions project this feeling...cant we say that lets all take our turn in crossing TOGETHER?

Why should someone else be free ... while I do the work? ...another one of our thoughts...how many times do we think that...why should that person do the work alone...why dont I go and help...and WE do it together?

The above stated situations sill occure when we are alone to do something...and the completion of the task at hand would be our own singular effort...but there is a worse case of thoughtlessness that can be frequently witnessed...that is in group situations...when a group of people are given one single task to complete...and one person ends up doing all the work while the others sit back and relax...the general sentiment in these situations is...why should I do seomething...or even worse...if HE/SHE is doing it  let them...I'LL turn up when all the work is done...

Why do we think this way?...that is the question that needs to be answered...why have we truned this selfish...why dont we make the small efforts to help people ...make their lives simpler...and bring peace to our own?

We think like this...because we have been always been taught to subject others to our judgements ... to our prejudices...to discrimination...what is worse is that no one instructed us to think this way...feel this way...but slowly and gradually we have been led to this...by our society in general...

There will be no use complaining about WHO did this...so lets get to the solution quickly...
Form this moment ... today...here and now..let us make a conscious effort to help others...make things easier for people around us...not just people who we know...EVERYONE...

Exactly how much effort can it take...to be pleasnt to a stranger...to help someone carry their burden...to let someone cross the road while we stop our car to let them pass...to help someone clean up...to form a line and wait for our turn...to simply realise that others are as important as we are...no matter their color, creed, cast, religion or social position...we are all humans FIRST...and EVERYTHING else later...
And when it comes to classifying...how convinently we are made to forget one class...the one that brings us together...we are all PAKISTANIS....and when we are labled that...we all stand united...

So let us all make an effort to change our old stubborn habits...and replace them with ones that bring us together...and move forward... TOGETHER :)

United We Stand...Divided We Fall...So Let Us Be The Change That Would Unite Our Nation

The Change

The question that why do we stand here…as a nation…what brought us here?  Has nagged me a lot… And I have a few questions to ask you people…as a part of this nation…just so I can get to a conclusion
We ask for justice…insaaf…for ourselves…but are we fair to others? aren’t we the people who are waiting for someone to not know their rights just so we can exploit them?
We demand that truth be told to us…until it is in our favor…but do we tell the truth when we know it would harm our position? Don’t we prefer lies over the truth when the truth is not in our favor?
We say that people should admit their mistakes…and learn from them…do we admit our own mistakes…do we own up to them? Don’t we prefer to be prejudiced in our own favor…don’t we play unfair?
We say that we should not be labeled…as a Muslim…Hindu…Christian…as a Balouchi…Sindhi…Punjabi…Pathan…Muhajir…but every day we label people…Don’t we use their cast creed religion to form our opinions about them?
We want that people who do not know us should not unknowingly form opinions about us…but don’t we ourselves form our own strong opinions based on appearance and hear-say?
We say that our leaders are cheaters…don’t we all cheat…at our own levels…in class tests…on the job…in sports…and yet…all our fingers point towards our leaders…
We say that our cricket team does not do their jobs well…they are not sincere to the game…they don’t play well…are we sincere to our jobs? Do we do our jobs well…do we study…teach…work…even play sincerely?
We say there is poverty…there should be equal distribution of wealth…but are we ready to share our own wealth? Don’t we think twice before donating money…and even then give up the smallest part of our wealth?
We say that Pakistani brands are not advancing…don’t we all prefer a foreign make over a Pakistani brand? We say that there is a stark difference in the quality….how in the name of the world would he quality improve when the brands do not generate enough revenue for betterment …when no one buys their stuff how can they make more investments?
We say there is load shedding…who wastes electricity? We say there is pollution…who litters our public places…we say there is corruption…if we don’t give a bribe how will someone take it? …the list can go on and on ….the question is? Aren’t we doing the exact same things that we complain about?
The Truth is…We Are Here Only Because We Wait For Someone Else To Make A Move…Bring A Change… We ask for change…when will we realize that we ARE the change…Let us make a pledge…here and now…to stop complaining and start working on our shortcomings….to make our neighborhood…our district…our city and our country  the place we want it  to be.
